YOU GOIN’ DOWN, CLOWN!

Brethren: 

Well, it was just a matter of time before the first gauntlet of 2010 was thrown down, this time by Chief Bender, shown above, as he emphatically advises Shamu that his team will not be repeating as Hot Stove League Champion in 2010. 

Strange to see Bender without a beer cup in either mitt.

DRAFT DAY:  SATURDAY APRIL 3, 2010, 9:00 A.M.

As you all know if you are following the Message Board, we are moving our Draft to 9:00 a.m. on Saturday morning, April 3, 2010, to accommodate McJester’s need to attend a dinner being put on that night by one of his fellow Renaissance Faire board members or some damned thing.  B.T. will be bringing the breakfast goodies, once again, and Bender will make sure that we have plenty of the necessary ingredients for our morning Bloody Marys and Screwdrivers, for those of you not up to a beer breakfast.

Be there, and don’t be late. 

TRIP UPDATE

In light of the pending birth of B.T.’s first grandchild (congrats, Big Boy! but you certainly don’t look old enough to be a grandfather) in July, we will look at August for this year’s Trip to the Twin Cities for a Twins game.  The two available weekends are as follows:

August 13-15 (Twins v. Athletics)

August 20-22 (Twins v. Angels)

But I recommend that we have the Trip August 20-22, to hopefully avoid conflicting with any late summer vacations.  Is there anyone who has a strong preference for the other August weekend for the Trip?  Speak now, or forever hold your peace.

And finally, I leave you with good news:  Only 26 more days until those magical words of Pitchers and Catchers Report.
