Highlights:  Clemens came off the DL to pick up career win No. 16 by pitching six innings of three hit ball and giving up one earned run.  Willie Wilson and Bye-Bye Balboni hit triples.

Highlights:  The Red Sox scored a single run in the top of the 9th to tie the game and take Oil Can off the hook, then scored three runs in the twelfth when Buckner and Rice both doubled.  Stanley gave up singles to Wilson and White and a double to Brett before giving way to Clear, who struck out Balboni to end the Royals’ threat in the bottom of the twelfth.
