Highlights:  The Royals came up big in the sixth inning with three runs off Dennis Rasmussen, with singles by Lonnie Smith and George Brett and a two-RBI double by Hal McRae producing the inning’s three runs.  The game also featured three-baggers by Easler, Salazar and Smith in a rare three-triple game.

Highlights:  Mark Gubicza tossed a six-hit shutout with no walks and ten strikeouts to best “Louisiana Lighting” (Guidry), who on an off day gave up three home runs and five earned runs in seven innings of work.  Frank White had a perfect 3-for-3 day at the plate, while Lonnie “Skates” Smith was caught stealing at second in one of his many career base-running blunders.
