Highlights: This one’s easy.  Eighth inning, two Royals on base, the light-hitting Greg Gagne up to bat, and a 25-to-1 wager against him leaving the Yard.  Going, going, gone!  And to put salt in the wound, Luis Polonia fakes everyone out into thinking that he actually caught it.  Sorry, Shamu. Pay up.

Dante Bichette

Highlights:  Tony Gwynn went 3-for-3 and recorded his 2000th hit, leading the way to Benes’ thirteenth win and Hoffman’s third save.  Dante Bichette patrolled the outfield with all of the grace and aplomb of Lonnie Smith, butchering several plays in right field before our very eyes.
